In 2003, after a stretch without a bassist, the former members of Asphyxia and Prick B. Mafia joined together with Bosco, a classical stand-up bass player venturing his way into the electric age.
The band, then known as Raccoon Creek, began experimenting with a progressive, neo-classic rock direction inspired, in part by current artists such as The Mars Volta, The Hellacopters, The Catheters, while respecting the groundwork laid by Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Genesis. The band's more aggressive side recalls tinges of Refused, Tool, and even textures of Cursed-like crust.
After a couple shows under the Raccoon Creek moniker, the band settled on Silver Bridge Disaster, an etymology stemming from family ties to the Gallipolis, OH area where the Silver Bridge fell in 1967.
The band entered Ultrasuede Studios in 2004 with John Curley of The Afghan Whigs to produce the band's debut LP, Death Of A Song (2006 And Recordings).
In late 2006 the band recorded their cover "Gentlemen" at Candyland Studio with Mike Montgomery (Thistle/ Ampline) to be included on an upcoming tribute to the The Afghan Whigs on SummersKiss Records.
The band is currently in the writing/perfecting process of their forthcoming excursions into noisy racket in the form of what will be the band's second offering.
